The Window is the open area of the mouthpiece. It's dimensions should bound the vibrating part of the reed. It should be sufficiently wide to allow the reed to vibrate to it's fullest potential (15mm - alto and 16mm - tenor). The bottom of the window is where the chamber begins on through to the bore.
