Corkgrease!?! who needs it...
Say goodbye to the smell, mess, and expense - forever.
Go down to any hardware store and in the plumbing section you will find teflon plumbers tape. It costs about 40 cents per roll and one roll will last about two years with normal mouthpiece use. It comes in different widths and colors. They all have the same great properties of being very thin and very slick.
If your neck cork is real cork it will compress with use. Then your mouthpiece starts to flop all over the place and can present big problems. Simply take some of this teflon tape and start wrapping. Go in a spiral motion starting at the top and going to the bottom of the cork. Start with a thin layer and add more as you need it. What you want to do is avoid any bumps or folds in the tape as this will cause your mouthpiece to bunch up the tape when you put on the mouthpiece. When you put the mouthpiece on the neck the tape will snug down and compress a little.
Take your mouthpiece and using a twisting motion, screw the mouthpiece onto the neck GENTLY. What you want to avoid is bunching up the tape.
