Why should I buy Springer mouthpieces!?!

It's a very good question - one you should ask of every merchant. Because what you are buying is FROM amd OF that merchant, and the product is going to reflect that merchants talent and values.
I started playing the saxophone in 1975, thru the high school system in Marshalltown, Iowa under the direction of Richard Francis and Jerry Ellingson. I received the Rich Matteson Jazz Scholarship to North Texas State University in the summer of 1982. I graduated from NTSU in 1987 with a BA in Music Education.

As a saxophone player, I have tried many, many mouthpieces until I found the ones I made were better than all the ones I had bought over the years. Like many good merchants in this country, I wouldn't think of selling it, if I didn't believe in this product. I have priced my mouthpieces lower than handmade professional mouthpieces so that students can enjoy some of the qualities that come from a handmade mouthpiece. You see, most of those "catalog mouthpieces" (even many of the expensive ones)are faced buy a machine and are VERY inconsistent. Consequently, you are left with one of several scenerios 1)you get lucky and get a good one on your first try, 2) you spend days trying 4-5 mouthpieces until you find one that is decent, 3) you spend $100 on a brand name piece and have to send it off to a refacing specialist costing more money and wasting more time to get what you need. I try to save you the time and money by making each mouthpiece play as good as it can and making sure it is sound before shipment.
By buying a Springer mouthpiece you are making a statement to the large companies that you will no longer accept machine-faced, mass-produced mouthpieces that are inconsistent and end up in your drawer instead of on your horn putting a smile on your face.
Each mouthpiece I make is PLAY TESTED before it is shipped and if I don't like it, I won't ship it. I hope I have encouraged you to take a step-up and buy a Springer mouthpiece.
